Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-23
TL;DR
Sideband comes with a free 30-day trial, no card required, so you can evaluate it fully before paying anything. On top of that we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment.
1. The 30-day free trial
Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial that needs no payment details. Most questions about whether Sideband fits your workflow can be answered here, before you’re ever charged. If you decide not to continue, don’t subscribe and nothing is billed.
2. 14-day money-back guarantee
If you subscribe and Sideband isn’t right for you, request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment and we’ll give your money back, no questions asked. This is in addition to any statutory rights you have, including the 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases in the UK and EU.
3. Renewals, pausing and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically so your access doesn’t lapse. From your billing page you can pause or cancel at any time:
- Pause is the gentler option: it stops future billing while keeping your data and any founding-member pricing, and you can resume whenever you like. Paddle schedules the pause for the end of your current billing period and doesn’t charge again until you resume.
- Cancel ends the subscription outright.
Either way the change takes effect at the end of the period you’ve already paid for, so you keep full access until then. After that, whether paused or cancelled, reading, export and your DBLib/ODBC connection keep working; only editing stops, so your library is never locked away.
Renewal payments are non-refundable, except where the law provides otherwise. For example, annual subscriptions in the UK renew with a fresh 14-day window. If you were charged for a renewal you meant to pause or cancel, contact us and we’ll sort it out.
4. How refunds are handled
Payments for Sideband are processed by our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle, so refunds are issued by Paddle to your original payment method, normally within 14 days of approval. Your card statement shows a Paddle descriptor (such as “Paddle.net”). You can request a refund directly from your Paddle receipt or by contacting us; either reaches the same place.
5. How to request a refund
Email hello@getsideband.com with the email address on your account and we’ll take it from there, or use the “Manage subscription” / “View receipt” links in the email Paddle sent when you subscribed. We aim to respond within two business days.
6. Company details
Sideband is provided by Fermium Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (No. 12425065), with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service and the Paddle Buyer Terms that apply to your purchase.
